I have a lot of other work to take care of today, so all I can muster on the Ultima is to remove the clamps and clean off the sill covers where the Wurth squeezed out beyond the edge of the cut-outs. A sharp blade in the matte knife quickly takes care of this.
I do my errands and also stop at a surplus store where I pick up two very promising looking brand new five inch speaker enclosures from an unknown GM vehicle (the cheap speakers say AC Delco so I am assuming that these come from a GM assembly line)
I am however primarily interested in the ABS housings which I will test fit on the ULTIMA. I will buy some good quality speakers and toss out the AC Delco's if I like the fit of the enclosures.
I return home and test fit the speaker enclosures on the chassis portion under the dash and they look like they will do nicely with the fabrication of some custom brackets.
I am however also going to explore fabricating aluminum brackets as per the latest factory build CD before I commit to these ABS units. An email to Pistonheads may be in order, to sound out other builders before I do anything with these enclosures.
